Leading up to college, I always knew I wanted to pursue studies and a career in the field of hospitality. After learning about the highly respected hospitality program at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, there was no doubt which table I was going to visit first at my high school’s college fair.

After touring Johnson & Wales University, meeting hospitality faculty and learning more about the experiences JWU offers outside of the classroom, my decision was a no brainer. I had the pleasure of interning with the Providence - Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (@goprovidence). At the Bureau and by working with industry partners, I gained experience and learned about every aspect of hospitality... everything from hotels, attractions and restaurants to entertainment & special events. It was this experience specifically where I discovered that my niche within the industry was in the area of events.

I was also very involved in extracurricular activities and held multiple on campus positions during my time in college. I worked closely with the University Media Team in generating creative content and ideas to engage a variety of audiences and managed official social media accounts for the university. I was also a Program Assistant and the University Involvement Board President for the Student Involvement & Leadership office, where I was responsible for managing our event calendar, social media accounts, employee schedules and department event budgets, which totaled to over $100,000. During the summer months when I wasn't in Providence, I was part of the Social and Activities Team at Woodloch Resort, where I worked with a staff of over 90 employees in creating, organizing and overseeing events and activities for over 1,000 guests daily.

Post graduation, I began working with Legends Hospitality as a host in the restaurant at One World Observatory. I also assisted in the set-ups of events and happy hours. With COVID-19 temporarily closing the Observatory in 2020, I took on a seasonal role in destination marketing at Ski Big Bear in Pennsylvania.

In March of 2021, I returned to Woodloch Resort full time to pursue a new role as their Wedding & Event Coordinator. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors. I am so fortunate enough to live and work in a region with plenty of fresh mountain air. I love watersports, skiing, hiking and exploring. I also like to volunteer in my local community and currently serve on the Strategic Planning Committee of Masthope Mountain Community, where I analyze long term infrastructure projects that reflect the needs and desires of the membership.
